This experience pulls out the tracker inside all of us. I feel like a different person now when I go out into the world of the animals…-Andy Farrell
The mission of our Tracking Club is to develop skilled trackers of all ages, prepare adults to pass on tracking knowledge to youth, and prepare youth for a lifetime of learning about the natural world.
Join us for fun-filled mornings of community learning as we see into the lives of wild animals through the tracks they leave behind. You can never be sure what cast of characters will have been playing: elk, otter, coyote, bobcat, bear, cougar…
At Tracking Club, participants are led by skillful naturalist instructors into a world of mystery and intrigue that we call tracking. Learn animal track identification, aging, interpretation and much more.
The whole experience is designed to inspire curiosity and give you the tools needed to track with confidence on your own, and to share the joys of tracking with others.
You are welcome to join us for a day or to become a tracking club member (see below).
If you would like to join our Tracking Club Google Group, just send us a request.

Meet Your Instructors
Merilee Wilmore

Merilee is a Seattle native who graduated from Seattle Pacific University with a degree in Psychology before following a career in pediatric mental health. In 2008 Merilee came to Wilderness Awareness School to attend the Anake Outdoor School and then apprenticed for the same program the following year through our Outdoor Leadership Program. She has since worked for our Monthly Programs and been a Core Instructor at Community School before taking on her current lead role. Merilee also loves working for our summer programs such as Idaho Wolf Tracking and the Walkabout Expedition. Favorite subjects to bring to the program are: bone work, wild crafting and primitive cooking as well as tracking and wandering. When she is not enjoying her time with the teens, Merilee is really brought alive by time spent painting and swimming, wild crafting, fishing and cooking. She lives in Seattle with her husband and Australian Blue Heeler.
