Advanced Survival Overnight Camp
I
love the informal structure – so unlike other camps... The staff
show quiet engagement with the children, and respect for them and their
abilities. -Annie Kennedy
This five-night advanced camp takes the skills taught in our other overnight camps to a new level. The first days are spent in base camp preparing tools and practicing skills of survival. In the second portion of the camp, we move away from base camp learning to provide for the needs of shelter and food from natures bounty. The skills taught at this camp do require effort and focus, and the experience is perfect for teens who are ready to apply themselves to the challenge and adventure of survival!
Important Information
Previous experience with Wilderness Awareness School programs is encouraged, though not required.
- During the Advanced Survival Overnight Camp, we will be spending nights in the woods without tents. Campers must be prepared for and comfortable with this arrangement.
- Scout Overnight Camp begins at 1pm on Sunday and ends at 12pm on Friday. Parents are encouraged to arrive at 11 a.m. on Friday - campers will share their stories of the week during our closing circle.
- All youth overnight participants must return a signed Physician’s Medical Form by June 1. This is for the safety of our participants and our organization. Completion of this form will require a physical exam completed within one year of the course date, and an appointment with that physician for the form to be filled out. We appreciate your understanding.
