Book Three: Giving Thanks. Running Deer and Moon Bird encounter a variety of unusual animals and people, and find reason to give thanks for the good things in their lives. These stories provide a gentle reminder to the children, and to all of us, to offer thanksgiving. THE YOUNG NATURALIST is more an activity guide than a story book (though each activity includes an introductory story), designed for young people who desire a deeper connection with the natural world.
