Susan Wepking

Registrar
Pronouns: She/Her

Susan’s innate love of her wild relations and the land that nurtures them grew from wandering the foothills of Tahoma with her family as a child.  Since then, her explorations have taken her to both sides of the Cascades and the sagebrush steppe of the Columbia Plateau. Her passion for adventure also revealed a deep love for the desert Southwest, which has become her muse as both poet and photographer. A graduate of our Tracking Intensive program, Susan is always in pursuit of deeper connections with wildlife. Her adoration of hummingbirds inspires her to volunteer annually with the Hummingbird Monitoring Network, helping with banding and migrational monitoring. She has a passion for land-human kinship, poetry, conservation, and martial arts. Susan is enamored by the deep mystery and magic of our beautiful world and feels blessed to serve in a community that encourages nature connection, reverence, and the cultivation of our gifts.

Susan’s photography has been published in our calendars which are available in the WAS bookstore.
