Allison VanSickle

Allison VanSickle

Community School, Wild Within 1
Pronouns: She/Her

As a therapist and nature mentor, Allison specializes in anxiety, depression, ADHD, and trauma, with a particular passion for experiential and nature-based approaches. She believes that some of our most meaningful learning happens when we step outside, get a little uncomfortable, try something new, and discover that we are capable of more than we thought.

Allison is especially excited about creating spaces where kids can be curious, take healthy risks, have fun, and build the skills and confidence to navigate both the wilderness and life. She is very passionate about fire making, medicinal plants, wood carving and knots. She loves helping people slow down, notice what is around them, build confidence through real-world experiences, and develop a deeper relationship with themselves, each other, and the natural world. Allison graduated from the Nature Instructor Training program in 2024 and continues to volunteer and work summer camps in addition to her private therapy practice.

When she’s not working, you’ll likely find Allison outside—mountain biking, hiking, skiing, backpacking, paddleboarding, or exploring with her two kids.
