Board Member
James is a recent graduate of the Wilderness Awareness School Immersion program (2022-23). He lives in Duvall, WA with his wife Emma and their two children Walt and Larry, who participate in WAS weekly programs. James moved frequently in his youth and as a young adult, living in major international cities such as Jakarta, Indonesia, London, England, as well as the East Coast, West Coast, and Gulf Coast of the US. The Wilderness Awareness School gave him an opportunity to feel more rooted to community and to develop a deep connection to nature and place. James is an aspiring naturalist and looks forward to attending all the Wilderness Awareness School intensives in the years to come!
In addition to his direct experience with WAS programs, James completed his MBA at Rice University and brings 18+ years of global leadership experience from a variety of roles in supply chain, manufacturing, and technology. Most recently, James has been focused on strategic planning for people and infrastructure projects at Amazon Web Services. He recently rejoined Amazon Web Services as the Head of AWS Support Capacity Planning.
