James is a recent graduate of the Wilderness Awareness School Immersion program (2022-23). He lives in Duvall, WA with his wife Emma and their two children Walt and Larry, who participate in WAS weekly programs. James moved frequently in his youth and as a young adult, living in major international cities such as Jakarta, Indonesia, London, England, as well as the East Coast, West Coast, and Gulf Coast of the US. The Wilderness Awareness School gave him an opportunity to feel more rooted to community and to develop a deep connection to nature and place. James is an aspiring naturalist and looks forward to attending all the Wilderness Awareness School intensives in the years to come!

In addition to his direct experience with WAS programs, James completed his MBA at Rice University and brings 18+ years of global leadership experience from a variety of roles in supply chain, manufacturing, and technology. Most recently, James is supporting the launch of Amazon’s low Earth orbit satellite initiative, which aims to expand affordable broadband access to unserved and underserved communities worldwide. He leads global field service development, building fulfillment infrastructure and partner networks to enable worldwide deployment.
