Backyard Bowmaking

Description

There’s nothing like shooting a bow that you’ve made with your own hands. It’s powerful to know that you can take a stick and create a beautiful, functional wooden bow. Imagine taking that first shot from a bow that YOU crafted.

A bow is one the highest achievements that wood can become. How is it possible to take a chunk of wood and bend it thousands of times without breaking? And better still for that bow to stay as strong as it was the first time it was shot.

Backyard Bowmaking is a step-by-step system for making a wooden bow.

It takes you through all the essential stages of making your first bow. I’ve boiled down 12 years and hundreds of bows into a simple but effective video training course.

You’ll learn:

  • What wood species you can use to make a bow
  • How to safely select and harvest a tree
  • The fastest way to season wood
  • Laying out and designing the right bow for you
  • Tool selection and use
  • Setting up a bowmaking workstation
  • Making a bow string
  • The art of tillering: how to make your bow bend evenly
  • How to finish and store your bow
  • And tons more!
