Ember and Arrow Activities:

Archery

Archery has been a favorite summer camp activity for generations! Campers will have a blast practicing archery in a safe, structured environment. This builds focus, hand-eye coordination, patience, and discipline, while helping them develop confidence in their abilities.

Firecraft

Campers learn the fundamentals of building and safely tending a fire. From understanding fire safety and respecting natural resources to exploring traditional techniques, they gain skills that foster confidence and self-reliance.

Shelter-Building

Using natural materials from the forest, campers practice creating safe, functional shelters. This teaches problem-solving, teamwork, and observation, while giving campers a deeper connection to their environment.

Foraging

Learning to harvest wild foods is fun, delicious, and nourishing. Under careful guidance, campers will enjoy harvesting edible plants, herbs, and berries, learning to identify what is safe and sustainable. Foraging teaches mindfulness, respect for ecosystems, and responsible interactions with plants.

Land Stewardship

Throughout the week, campers will learn how to care for the environment they are exploring. They practice Leave No Trace principles, and mindful interactions with plants, wildlife, and habitats, understanding that humans are part of the ecosystem, not apart from it.

Wildlife Tracking

Campers will learn to identify and follow animal tracks, trails, and signs in the forest. They will practice observing scat, feeding marks, and other subtle clues to understand wildlife behavior. This hands-on activity builds attention to detail and a deeper connection to the natural world.

Stealthcraft

Campers will become one with the forest, learning to move quietly and blend into the landscape. They’ll learn to camouflage, sneak, and activate their bodies and senses by using imaginative play.
